BMW Maintenance Tips

MAINTENANCE TIPS FOR BMW OWNERS

As with any vehicle, it's important for car owners to follow the manufacturer's recommended service schedule. BMW, in particular, has two notable check-ups: Inspection I and II. During these check-ups, BMW technicians evaluate, test and repair your BMW to make sure that it is healthy and ready to go when you leave. But what happens in-between each inspection? What do successful (in this case, we'll define "successful" as owning a car for 10 years or 200,000 miles) BMW owners do to fully enjoy the life cycle of their car?

The good thing is that there is no special trick or "secret formula" for BMW car maintenance, but what it will take is constant effort and a self-awareness to your car maintenance and driving habits. Are you ready to improve the quality of your drives and overall car performance? Call us today!

Clean Up Your Car!

This should be a no-brainer, but you'd be surprised to see how dirty people leave the inside of their vehicles. Though there are varying levels of sloppiness, from wrappers and empty cups to what seems like a closet on wheels (maybe they're trying to cover the entrance to Narnia?), it's important for car owners to keep the interior clean. There are many car washes that offer to clean up the interior of your car, which will help if you don't have the time. Oh, and as a bonus, keeping your car clean will subconsciously tell you to take better care of your car! Funny how that works, huh?

Better Gas, Better Performance

For many people, reaching for anything but the 'Regular' gas pump is considered a cardinal sin for their bank accounts. It's understandable to think that, you've gotten away with regular gas for years, why change things now? Your BMW is a high quality, high performing machine and unlike other brands, it prefers quality fuel. Yeah, you may be able to get away with it but you won't be able to achieve its highest level of performance. Consider treating your car to 'Premium' gas next time and see how much better it operates.

As the saying goes, you get out what you put in.

Check Your Tire Tread

Tire health is an important part in maintaining overall car health. Ideally, most cars want to be within 30-35 PSI but it's important to check the vehicle's manufacturing guide. What's wonderful about tires is that they are pretty easy to evaluate and take care of. A lot of BMWs will show the tire PSI on one of the displays (typically in front of your wheel). For inspecting tire tread, try the quarter trick! Simply place a quarter (head first) in the inner, outer, and middle treads of your car and if you see any part of George Washington's head then you should think about replacing your tires.
